On May 24, 2019, a round table was held with the participation of representatives of the Agency for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships under the Ministry of Finance, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), private business and the media.
The goal is to tell entrepreneurs about the essence and significance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Public-Private Partnership”, signed on May 10 by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. They were also provided with detailed information on PPP projects that will be implemented this year as part of the implementation of the presidential decree "On measures to further improve the mechanisms for attracting foreign direct investment in the economy of the republic" of April 29, 2019.

The Ministry of Finance hosted a meeting with representatives of the United Nations (UN), led by a global activist for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Professor Jeffrey Sachs.
The guests thanked for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of the reforms taking place in the country, and said that they would be happy to assist in the process of implementing these changes.
Jeffrey Sachs said: “Eurasia is now in the spotlight. Uzbekistan and its neighbors are developing rapidly and have great potential, there are a lot of opportunities here. Geographically, your country plays a strategic role. Tashkent can become a financial hub and a logistics hub in the region. We would like to promote the development of mutually beneficial interaction to achieve these objectives."

Timur Ishmetov born in 1979 in Tashkent. Nationality - Uzbek. He graduated from Tashkent Financial Institute – the faculty of "Finance and Credit" in 2000, University of Birmingham, UK in 2005, Tashkent State Law University in 2007.
Prior to the appointment, he successfully worked as the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Timur Ishmetov is an expert with deep knowledge in the following areas: the role of monetary and fiscal policy in ensuring macroeconomic sustainability, the basic principles of managing international reserves, state assets and investments, as well as the matter and significance of the development of financial markets.
Shakhrukh Sharakhmetov is appointed as Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the state budget, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PP-4327 dated May 21, 2019178 times 23 May,2019
Shakhrukh Sharakhmetov born in 1977 in Tashkent. Nationality - Uzbek. He graduated from Tashkent State Economic University in 1998, University of Exeter, UK in 1999, majoring in economics, finance and investments.
Prior to the appointment, he successfully held the position of chief consultant in the division of the Administration of the Presidents of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of economic sector, implementation of investment and foreign economic policies. Work experience in finance and economic field - 18 years.
Shakhrukh Sharakhmetov is an expert with deep knowledge of finance in the social spheres - the sphere of education, healthcare, culture and sports, as well as science, rules and procedures of rational management of budget funds, the state budget policy.

On May 20, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with promising investment projects planned to be implemented in the city of Tashkent.
At an off-the-schedule session of Tashkent City Kengash of People’s Deputies on 21 December 2018, tasks were outlined to transform the capital into a large business center by actively attracting investments and establishing modern enterprises. On 4 January 2019, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures to attract foreign direct investments into the infrastructure development of Tashkent city” was adopted.

On May 13, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on acceleration of priority projects implementation with attraction of foreign investment.
Active investment policy is implemented in Uzbekistan. The investment climate is improving, foreign business circles show great interest in projects in Uzbekistan. International financial institutions, developed countries and large companies are investing in socio-economic sphere.
This year, meetings were held at the highest level with the leadership of the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and other countries. Within their framework, important agreements have been reached, covering such areas as industry, energy, infrastructure, construction, transport, agriculture, healthcare, education. Roadmaps for each area of cooperation with foreign partners were approved by the resolutions of the President to ensure the implementation of joint projects.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the crop fields of the farm “Komiljon ota Mamajonov” in the Ferghana district and talked with the farmers of the region.
The farmers noted that this season was rich in rainfall, but despite this they expect a good harvest from all types of crops. A significant increase in the price of cotton and grain for government purchases has raised the incomes of farmers and workers, changed their attitude to their work.
“The main criterion in all economic spheres is profitability. Where there is interest, there is both work and result. If you study market demand and work wisely, revenues will rise,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of Yangiobod Invest Service private enterprise in Muzrabat district.
Poultry is a source of dietary meat and eggs, which has an important place in the daily diet of the population. Many poultry farms are organized at places for ensuring the abundance and availability of these products.
A new poultry complex in Muzrabat district has recently started its activities. 7 chicken coops, 2 chickeries and an administrative building were built on the territory of the complex with an area of 10 hectares. Harvesting feed on 220 hectares is established. As a result, it created the opportunity to contain 500 thousand hens and 1 million 735 thousand chickens. 150 people are employed. A refrigerated warehouse with a capacity of 1 thousand tons will be commissioned soon.

The Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the World Bank for the Regional Road Development project of local importance, and intends to send a portion of these funds for the payment of goods, works and consulting services to be procured under the project.
Position Title: Bridge Engineer
• University degree in Construction or road engineering; in economics and project management;
• Work experience (5 years and more) in this specialization, including experience in the investment projects financed by international financial institutions.
Personal qualities: ability to clearly explain the idea of the plan and drawings, to analyze information and evaluate solutions, confident decision-making, excellent organizational, communication and management skills, the ability to manage and lead the team, logical thinking and ability to cooperate with others, the ability to work with medium budget and timing, good team work, a thorough knowledge of the local legislation.
1. Knowledge of Uzbek, Russian and English;
2. Higher education in the construction and road engineering;
3. Work experience (3 years and more) in international organizations, mainly in projects of the reconstruction / rehabilitation of roads and artificial structures, knowledge of FIDIC standards and local legislation on the regulation of road construction;
4. The certificates / licenses for supervising the road construction and engineering structures, as well as the possession of special knowledge on the application of standards AASHTO, BS;
5. Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
6. Good knowledge of written and spoken English is an advantage.
